History

Trpinjska cesta is a street in Vukovar between Borovo district and Trpinje. It represents one of the most significant symbols of Croatian resistance during the Homeland War. During the Battle of Vukovar in 1991, this location became known as the "tank graveyard" due to the successful resistance of Croatian defenders against the superior Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). Trpinjska cesta is also one of the local committees of Vukovar.
AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE
Caffe bar Mustang was a popular gathering place for young people, including today’s celebrated Croatian footballers Igor Štimac, Davor Šuker, Zlatko Dalić, Nikola Jerkan, and others before the war. These young men, aged 18 to 30, were part of the 'popular' youth of Vukovar, who hardly noticed the dramatic changes in society. At that time they did not know that these changes would lead them into the most terrifying period of their lives. In mid-September '91, Mustang became the wartime headquarters of the 3rd Battalion.
